Privacy policy

ReckonBox is operated by DexTechLabs, and it is built to be private by design: the calculators run entirely in your browser, so the numbers you type are never sent to us. This policy explains the little data that is involved when you use the site, your rights over it, and how to reach us.

What we collect, and what we do not

The values you enter into any calculator stay on your device and are computed in your browser. They are never transmitted to our servers, and we never store them. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not need your name, email, or financial details for a tool to work.

Two ordinary things do happen. Your browser saves a small preference for light or dark mode on your own device, which you can clear at any time. And, like every website, our hosting provider processes standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of each request, to serve the pages and keep the site secure.

Cookies and advertising

ReckonBox is supported by advertising through Google AdSense, which uses cookies. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third party vendor's use of cookies at aboutads.info. Where the law requires your consent before non-essential cookies are set, we ask for it before those cookies load.

Analytics

We may use aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and see which tools are useful. This measures traffic in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• ask for a summary of any personal data of yours that we process,
• ask us to correct or complete it,
• ask us to erase it,
• withdraw any consent you have given, as easily as you gave it, and
• nominate someone to exercise these rights for you.

If you are in the EEA or the UK

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation and its UK equivalent apply to you. You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. For advertising in those regions, consent for cookies is collected through a Google-certified consent management platform, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Grievances

If you have a complaint about how your data is handled, you can reach our grievance officer, Tapabrata Biswas, by email at hello@reckonbox.com, or by post at the address below. We will acknowledge and address grievances within the time the law allows, which is 90 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

ReckonBox is a general-audience set of tools and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and personalised advertising is not directed at them.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices or the law change, and we revise the date at the top when we do. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
